Scheduled Classes
The classes offered at Sinking Springs are suitable for all ages. We welcome you to join us with a friend or two, or visit with your group (4-H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Church and Youth Groups, etc.). You’ll enjoy a one-of-a-kind adventure with Ann Stubbs where she will provide an opportunity for you to connect with nature through crafts and educational outings.
Ann holds a Master’s Degree in Art and Elementary Education from the University of Delaware. She has done commissioned pieces and educational programs for the White House, Campbell’s Soup Company and Longwood Gardens. Her passion is to inspire creativity through nature in children and adults of all ages.
Take part in a class or two and appreciate a hands-on experience that will spark a fire in you for the love of nature. Leave behind your fast-paced world and acquaint yourself with the natural world. All generations are welcome, so make this an adventure for the whole family!

Join this workshop to learn about the many health benefits of Fra
nkincense and Peppermint. Frankincense, known as the king of essential oils, is a great all-rounder, as it supports and soothes the mind, body and soul. Peppermint is an aromatic plant, which is a cross between water mint and spearmint. In a world where we seem to take less and less time for ourselves, anything that can help to combat stress and anxiety, particularly when that can be done in a natural way, is a good thing.

May 16, 2026 — Kitchen Herb Wreath, 10AM to 12PM
This workshop teaches participants to craft functional and decorative wreaths using fresh or dried herbs for culinary and aromatic purposes. Good culinary herbs to include are rosemary, thyme, oregano, lavender, bay leaves and sage. Display wreaths by hanging them on cabinet doors, windows, or walls using hooks and ribbon for a custom and inviting look, plus adding a fragrant touch to the home.

June 20, 2026 — Lemon Herbs to Grow and Cook, 10AM to 12PM
Lemony herbs can be grown in 
nearly every climate region except the coldest. Grow these herbs in the garden from spring through summer, or grow indoors, year-round. Lemon-flavored and scented herbs include lemon thyme, lemon basil, lemon mint, lemon verbena, lemon balm, lemongrass, and lemon bergamot. Lemon-flavored herbs are popular for teas and cooking recipes in addition to their pleasing fragrance. Most lemon-scented herbs have therapeutic properties and can be used as organic cleaning products. Join us to explore the seven lemon herbs and their various uses. NOTE: Several plants are provided for the students. No senior tuition waiver.
